Starting out again !

Years ago when my children were little I used to draw and paint a lot !

I would travel to work early to sit and sketch people scurrying to work in Cheltenham town centre before going to work as a printer. In the evenings when the children had gone to bed I would sketch some more and maybe paint in watercolour. Somehow life got in the way and my painting and drawing hit the back burner until just before I turned 50. Fate took another twist and with the advance of technology the company i was working for made me redundant. 

I had just been gifted a book at the time by Jean Mulatier Hollywood Stars full of amazing caricatures ! Given my lifelong fascination with faces I was bitten by the bug and started to try for myself. Creating good caricatures is no easy feat and I struggled to learn the craft but I was a member of an online forum dedicated to the art form and with lots of help and advice improved. 

17 years later I am still producing the digital caricatures and love creating them. The latest plot twist is that I have now retired and have time on my hands to rekindle my love of watercolours especially portraits, although I will try my hand at other subjects that grab my attention. So my watercolour journey that started over 30 years ago has been rekindled !
